The Catechism of the Catholic Church has a fair amount of space devoted to the Second Coming. I'm going to quote #680-682, which is already a summary:
1. Christ already reigns, but the whole world is not yet subject to him. There will indeed be a final assault by the forces of evil, before the Second Coming.
2. On Judgment Day, at the end of the world, Christ will come in glory to achieve the final triumph over evil.
3. When Christ comes, he will reveal everyone's end (the "secrets of their hearts") and this coming will be a public revelation of what each person already knows about whether grace has been accepted--and lived out.
Now, I can see from your several questions to this feature that you are concerned about the Second Coming. I advise you to be more concerned about your own judgment. If you're ready for that, you're ready for the Second Coming. Yes, something really challenging is anticipated before the Coming in Glory, but you can't stop it from happening; you can only respond grace by grace, moment by moment.
