I apologize for any offense taken. Perhaps it is you, however, who judge the opposite of wise to be ignorant and stupid. In any case, language that causes you to dig in your heels is not helpful. Sorry.

If you are Catholic, it seems less likely that you would take offense at this, however, and I'm sure you would understand that those who respond to these questions assume that those who pose the questions are quite likely to be Catholic. We didn't view ourselves as talking to "everyone."

That doesn't make it appropriate to insult others, but it might be compared to the way you talk in your family as contrasted with the way you speak in "public." Obviously, that's an assumption we should be wary of.

I do hope you remain open to thoughtful consideration of this subject, which is very precious to all those who have experienced the miracle of life or who find it hard to imagine that what is born as a human being is not one from conception onward.
