[ARTICLE_IMAGE]Keeping the faith has taken on a whole new meaning for Catholic young people in Iraq over the past two years. But these young people have more than demonstrated they are up to the challenge of the Gospel!
While young people from across the globe gathered to celebrate the "World Youth Day," more than 1000 Iraqi Catholic youth gathered in Baghdad in solidarity and spiritual union with those gathered in Cologne, Germany. They were joined by young people in other Iraqi cities, like Mosul, where some 400 young people gathered to pray and celebrate.
In recognition of their response to Jesus’ call to: “Courage: do not be afraid,”, His Holiness, Benedict XVI sent his apostolic blessing to the young Church of Iraq.
