Definition: Sunday

The beginning of a Christian week mindful of the day of Jesus Christ's resurrection.

After the Resurrection, Jesus' followers understood what he was teaching and doing. Because of this understanding, the first Christians gathered on Sunday, the Lord's Day, to break bread and share stories of Christ's redeeming work. It became a time to celebrate the Resurrection and the Last Supper and set the tone for the week ahead.
