Definition: Rosary
A set of beads used to assist Christian prayer. The rosary prayers are a meditation on the life of Jesus as told in Scripture.
The rosary combines two types of prayer: vocal and mental. The vocal part is saying (either aloud or silently) the traditional prayers Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be. The mental part is meditating or thinking about certain events or "mysteries." The "mysteries" of the rosary are key events in the lives of Jesus and Mary.
